An Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, Lucky Oberoi, was shot dead early Friday morning outside a gurdwara in Jalandhar, Punjab.
Police said Lucky was in his Thar car when attackers fired several bullets at him. He was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition, but later succumbed to injuries.

According to preliminary reports, at least two assailants arrived on a scooter and opened fire at Lucky from close range at around 7.55 am, just after he emerged from the gurdwara. At least five shots were fired at him.
Oberoi’s wife, Simarjot Kaur, had contested the municipal corporation elections last year on an AAP ticket.
The AAP leader was considered close to the party's Jalandhar constituency in-charge, Rajwinder Thiara, who said Lucky visited the gurdwara daily, and that the assailants seemed to be aware of his movements.
Lucky also worked as a financier and was involved in the property business too.
