Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state president Sushil Gupta has said the party is going to bring change and end corruption in Haryana. During a meeting with party leadership on Thursday evening, Gupta discussed preparations for the upcoming Ambala Municipal Corporation elections and discussed the candidates AAP will field in Ambala City.
Speaking to reporters, Gupta alleged that the BJP has been politicising caste and religion, while the Congress has completely lost its ground in Haryana. He said, “AAP is trying hard to bring change in the state and end corruption. Various scams and irregularities have come to light in municipal corporations. After protests, action has been taken against junior-level employees, but no action has been taken against the main accused.”
“After protests, action has been taken against junior-level employees, but no action has been initiated against the main accused.” He claimed that public money is being misused, adding that piles of dirt and garbage are seen accumulating in many areas and on roads across the state. He further alleged that facilities required to treat and dump the trash are not working properly or efficiently.
Gupta also claimed that the law and order situation has also deteriorated under the current BJP government. The proof of this is visible through rising unemployment, he added. He alleged that the administration is forcing youth to migrate abroad through illegal “dunki” routes. Public infrastructure, including hospitals and schools, is in a dilapidated condition, he alleged.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Laxmi Devi has joined AAP and has been fielded as the party candidate from Ward 7 in the Ambala Municipal Corporation elections.
