AAP to hold organisational meet in Jalandhar on April 29

Party leaders said the decision to bring in observers serves two purposes. It is seen as a show of strength at a time when the party is dealing with the defection of seven of its 10 Rajya Sabha MPs to the BJP. At the same time, observers will act as messengers to take the government’s development initiatives to people ahead of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls.

The Aam Aadmi Party is mobilising its organisational network for a major meeting in Jalandhar on Wednesday. More than 1,000 party observers are expected to attend, along with several MLAs and senior leaders.

Sources in the party said these observers have already been visiting villages and urban wards to strengthen the organisation and improve outreach at the grassroots level.

“They will be asked to continue expanding the party’s presence and organisational work on the ground,” said a senior party functionary requesting anonymity.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP Punjab affairs in-charge Manish Sisodia are likely to direct observers to highlight key government initiatives, including canal water supply reaching tail-end farmers, universal health insurance coverage and financial assistance schemes for women.

MLAs and party workers are also likely to be instructed to push volunteers to speed up the issuance of health cards and registration of beneficiaries under the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Scheme.

A senior party leader said the meeting is part of a structured outreach and coordination exercise. Such observers’ meetings are held regularly to review progress, strengthen organisational coordination, enhance ground presence and ensure that government initiatives are effectively communicated to the public.
