Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday called upon appointed public representatives (Dayitvadharis) to play a more active role in accelerating the state's development and ensuring that government welfare schemes reach every section of society. Addressing representatives from different parts of Uttarakhand at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in Dehradun, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination between the government and the people to promote inclusive growth and effective governance.

During the interaction, Dhami held detailed discussions on a wide range of issues concerning the state's development, public welfare, and matters of public interest. He reviewed the role of the appointed representatives in strengthening grassroots governance and highlighted their responsibility in communicating both the government's initiatives to citizens and the people's concerns back to the administration.

The Chief Minister said that public representatives serve as an important bridge between the government and the people, making their role vital in ensuring the effective implementation of development programmes across the state.

"Dayitvadharis have an important responsibility in connecting the government with the people. Along with taking government schemes and policies to the grassroots, they must also bring the aspirations, problems, and suggestions of citizens to the notice of the government," Dhami said during the meeting.

He urged the representatives to remain in constant touch with the people in their respective regions and actively engage with local communities to understand their concerns. According to the Chief Minister, regular dialogue with citizens would help the government identify issues at an early stage and enable quicker solutions.

Dhami emphasised that the representatives should work with dedication and sensitivity while addressing public grievances. He said they should ensure that the benefits of welfare programmes reach eligible beneficiaries without delay and that developmental projects are implemented efficiently at the local level.

Highlighting the government's commitment to inclusive development, the Chief Minister said the objective is to ensure that no citizen is left behind in the state's progress. He added that every public representative has an important role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in governance.
The Chief Minister also encouraged the representatives to actively monitor the implementation of various government schemes and gather feedback from people regarding their effectiveness. Such feedback, he said, would help the government improve policy implementation and make welfare programmes more impactful.
Dhami noted that Uttarakhand has made significant progress in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, tourism, road connectivity, and employment generation in recent years. He said continued cooperation between public representatives and government departments would further accelerate these efforts and help deliver better services to citizens.
The Chief Minister underlined the need for coordinated efforts to achieve the state's long-term development goals. He said all stakeholders must work together with a shared vision to build a stronger, more prosperous, and self-reliant Uttarakhand capable of meeting future challenges.
He also called on the representatives to create greater public awareness about government initiatives so that people can fully benefit from the various schemes launched for farmers, women, youth, senior citizens, entrepreneurs, and economically weaker sections.
According to Dhami, effective communication between citizens and the administration is essential for good governance. He said the representatives should continue to act as reliable channels for conveying people's aspirations, concerns, and constructive suggestions, thereby helping the government formulate policies that reflect the needs of the public.
Reiterating his government's commitment to balanced and inclusive development, the Chief Minister said every effort is being made to ensure that the fruits of growth reach even the most remote villages and the last person in society. He stressed that the collective responsibility of the government and public representatives is to strengthen public trust through efficient service delivery and people-centric governance.
Concluding the interaction, Dhami urged all appointed representatives to work with dedication, honesty, and a spirit of public service. He expressed confidence that their active participation would provide fresh momentum to the state's development journey and contribute significantly to the vision of building a modern, prosperous, and self-reliant Uttarakhand where every citizen has access to opportunities for growth and a better quality of life.
