The brother of Bihar-based educator Raushan Kumar, popularly known as Raushan Sir, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Nepal, adding a fresh twist to the controversy surrounding the vandalism of educator Khan Sir’s coaching institute in Patna.

Rakesh Kumar, also known as Prince Yadav, was discovered dead at a hotel in Birgunj, Nepal, authorities said. The exact cause of death has not yet been established, and Nepalese authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The development has attracted significant attention in Bihar as Prince Yadav was among those named in an FIR registered in connection with the vandalism of Khan Global Studies, earlier this month.

The case, which also named Raushan Anand and others, had triggered a high-profile dispute within the state's competitive coaching sector. Authorities, however, have not indicated any link between Yadav's death and the ongoing investigation.

Advocate Niranjan Kumar Singh, who represents Raushan Kumar, described the death as a devastating tragedy and raised questions over the sequence of events connected to the case.

“We received a phone call in the morning informing us about the incident. This is an immense tragedy. There can hardly be a greater hardship or a more devastating blow than this. One son is in jail, and another has died under such suspicious circumstances,” Singh said.

The lawyer claimed that the developments surrounding the case, including the filing of an FIR, arrests, court proceedings and the death, warranted closer scrutiny. However, he acknowledged that the matter remained under investigation and that no conclusions could be drawn at this stage.

Following reports of Prince Yadav’s death, security was tightened outside Khan Global Studies in Patna as a precautionary measure. Police personnel were deployed around the coaching centre amid concerns over possible reactions from students and supporters linked to the ongoing dispute.

Singh also referred to the coaching centre vandalism case, alleging that CCTV footage and media reports had shed light on the events leading up to the incident. He claimed that a case was subsequently registered against Khan Sir based on evidence gathered during the investigation. The matter, however, remains the subject of legal proceedings.

Officials in Nepal are examining all possible angles and have not indicated whether foul play is suspected. Investigators are awaiting further evidence, including post-mortem findings, to determine the cause of death.

The incident has added a dramatic new dimension to a dispute that has drawn widespread attention in Bihar’s competitive coaching sector.
