Uttar Pradesh police have registered a case against actor Shreyas Talpade and twelve others in Mainpuri district following allegations of a major investment scam. The FIR, filed on Tuesday at the Bhogaon police station, stems from a complaint by a local resident in Mohalla Mishrana who claims Talpade and his associates defrauded him and other villagers of lakhs of rupees.
According to the complaint, the fraudulent scheme was operated under the guise of an investment plan linked to a Mumbai bank branch.
A formal investigation into the charges is underway after a court issued an order in this regard. The popular actor from the world of Hindi and Marathi cinema, including the film 'Iqbal' and the popular 'Golmaal' series, and most recently the iconic role of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose from the film 'Azad Bharat,' is somehow a part of this economic scandal.
