The Haryana government has carried out an administrative reshuffle, issuing transfer orders for 15 IAS officers across the state. In less than a month, this is the second bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the government in order to make the bureaucracy function in an efficient and vibrant manner.
This is seen as yet another significant administrative overhaul as it involves transfer and posting of senior and high ranking officers within the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). The reshuffle effected on Wednesday also saw shifting of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) across key districts like Gurugram and Karnal.
One vital aspect of the rejig is transfer and posting of two senior IAS officers, with Ajay Kumar entering into the CMO as Deputy Principal Secretary –II to the Chief Minister whereas Saket Kumar who was serving as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has been transferred from this posting. Ajay Kumar was previously on the post of Deputy Commissioner Gurugram.
Uttam Singh has been transferred from his current posting as DC Karnal to become new Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram. Anand Kumar Sharma who held various municipal key postings in Rohtak has been now posted as Deputy Commissioner of Karnal and CEO of Karnal Smart City.
Besides changes at the DCs level, the reshuffle effected today also saw changes on the posts of Additional Chief Secretaries (ADCs)nad Pricipal Secretaries.In the transfers ordered on Wednesday, Pankaj Agarwal has been appointed Principal Secretary of the Architecture Department, while C.G. Rajini Kantham takes on the additional role of Commissioner and Secretary for Mines and Geology.
Saket Kumar, following his departure from the CMO, will now serve as Commissioner and Secretary of the Archives Department. Vineet Garg has been tnasferred from his role as Chairman of Haryana State Pollution Control Board to ACS of Printing and Stationery Department.
