AEE in J&K Jal Shakti deptt goes missing, Minister orders probe

An Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Jal Shakti Department has gone missing under mysterious circumstances on Friday at Ramban area of Jammu division.Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmed Rana,  expressing deep concern over his sudden disappearance has directed for extensive search operation.

An Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Jal Shakti Department has gone missing under mysterious circumstances on Friday at Ramban area of Jammu division.Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmed Rana,  expressing deep concern over his sudden disappearance has directed for extensive search operation. 

 

While the authorities have traced  Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Parvaiz Ahmed Wani's abandoned car on the banks of Chenab River, the search for the missing engineer still continues. According to officials, the discovery has raised concerns of a possible suicide, as initial inputs indicate the officer may have been struggling with depression.Moreover, rescue teams have been deployed to search the river and surrounding areas. Furthermore, a formal investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances leading to the incident.

 

Authorities also suspect he may have accidentally fallen into the river. A joint search operation is currently underway, despite the high water level in the river Chenab.In response, a joint search operation has been launched by police, Quick Response Team (QRT) Ramban, and locals. Station House Officer (SHO) Ramban, Vikram Parihar, confirmed that the engineer’s car was first noticed around 10:30 to 11:00 am near the lower Maitra junction. However, he stated that there is currently no concrete evidence suggesting that Wani slipped into the river. “We are taking every possibility into account and continuing the search operation along bank of mighty river Chenab,” he said.

 

Minister Rana has directed Chief Engineer PHE Jammu to liaise with district administration and other concerned authorities to ensure Wani is traced at the earliest.He instructed for effective inter-agency coordination to locate Wani and determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.The Jal Shakti Department and local authorities have launched a search operation along the river stretch and nearby areas.

 

The police are investigating the incident, and a team of officials is working tirelessly to locate Wani.The search operation continues, with authorities considering every possibility to locate Wani and determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
