Jharkhand excise constable recruitment examination will start again with a changed rule from September 10. After the death of 12 candidates participating in the race during the constable recruitment, the recruitment process was halted on the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

ADG Headquarters, RK Mallick today said that many changes have been made in the recruitment process. The race for recruitment will not be organized in Palamu district, but the candidates will be called in other districts.

He said that camps have been set up for recruitment in six districts, where the health of the candidates will be checked. For this, oxygen and BP measuring machines are being installed.

“If any candidate feels that his health is bad before the race, he can decide whether to participate in the race or not after a health checkup. The candidates whose physical efficiency test was to be held on 3 September will now participate in the reinstatement process from 10 to 11 September in the number of 3000 per day,” he said.

“The running competition and physical efficiency test of all the candidates of Palamu will be held on 19 and 20 September at 6 centres. New admit card for all the candidates will be issued soon by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission,” said the ADG.

He further said that during the recruitment process, complete medical facilities have been made available at the centres. No race after 8:30 am will be conducted under any circumstances.

Jharkhand police have appealed to all the candidates that if any of them has a long-term illness or has ever suffered from shortness of breath, they should participate in the recruitment process only after consulting a doctor.

Notably, 12 aspirants for the Jharkhand Excise Constable Examination have died during physical tests recently. The State Government has halted the recruitment tests looking at the seriousness of the issue.

The BJP has announced Rs 1 lakh assistance to the kin of the deceased aspirants and has said that it will take the matter to the National Human Rights Commission.
