A weekend cricket match in Bengaluru culminated in a tragic accident when a drunken fight between friends turned into a fatal high-speed crash on Sunday night. A dispute that began with the loss of a match turned ugly when it resulted in the death of 28-year-old Prashanth from Hebbagodi, with his friend now facing charges of murder.

According to police reports, Prashanth and 27-year-old Roshan Hegde — an IT professional — had been drinking together following the tournament when an argument broke out. The tension followed them into Roshan’s SUV as they drove around the area. The situation reached a breaking point when Prashanth reportedly tried to exit his own vehicle or stop Roshan from driving away. In a last-ditch effort to stop the SUV, Prashanth held on to the side of the car, standing on the footrest as Roshan accelerated.

Dashcam footage from the car captured the last moments of the incident. According to the police, Roshan deliberately drove the SUV at high speed with the intention of hitting his friend. The result was catastrophic, as Prashanth was crushed between the car and the tree, causing him massive injuries to the head and chest. He died while being rushed to the hospital.

Roshan also suffered serious injuries in the collision and is currently under medical supervision at a private hospital. The ordeal, however, is set to be followed by a tough legal battle. The Bengaluru police have already arrested him and filed a case of murder. The vehicle used in the crime has also been seized as part of the investigation.
