Air India has announced additional flights to Kolkata from four major cities to accommodate the surge in travel demand during the Durga Puja festivities.
Starting September 20, the airline will introduce daily flights from Bengaluru and Hyderabad to Kolkata, continuing for nearly a month.
Additionally, a daily flight from Mumbai to Kolkata will commence on September 25.
The airline had already increased its Delhi-Kolkata services from August 15, boosting the frequency from 28 to 35 weekly flights. The Mumbai-Kolkata route will also see an increase, with flights rising from 21 to 28 weekly.
These extra flights are scheduled at convenient times, offering travellers more options and ease as they plan their journeys to celebrate the festive season with family and friends.
This year, Durga Puja officially commences on Shashti, October 9, 2024.
The celebrations, marked by elaborate rituals, will continue through the five-day festival, culminating with Durga Visarjan (the immersion of the idol) on October 12, 2024, according to Drik Panchang.
