The Kashmir administrative authorities have confirmed that the Amarnath Yatra 2025 is continuing smoothly without any disruption, dismissing rumours that had surfaced on social media about a possible suspension of the pilgrimage.
Speaking to media, the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir said, “As of July 15, over 2.34 lakh pilgrims have performed darshan at the holy cave. On July 16, yatris from both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes continued their journey towards the shrine without any interruption.”
The clarification came after unverified reports claiming suspension of the Yatra began circulating online. Officials said such misinformation creates unnecessary panic and urged media houses to rely on verified government sources before publishing or forwarding updates related to the pilgrimage.
The 2025 Yatra was flagged off by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on July 2 and has so far witnessed a large turnout of pilgrims from across the country.The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 is proceeding seamlessly, with no interruptions reported on either route leading to the Holy Cave, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir confirmed today.
Reacting to the misleading information, the Divisional Commissioner clarified that pilgrims are continuously undertaking the journey and receiving darshan of Baba Barfani without any disruption. The pilgrims are moving in organised patterns from base camp at Jammu and reaching Kashmir without any major problems he said adding that concerned departments are working in complete coordination with each other to make things convenient for the pilgrims.
“The Yatra is going on smoothly. As of July 15, 2025, over 2.34 lakh pilgrims have had darshan. Today, on July 16, yatris are proceeding from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes without any hindrance,” he said.
Authorities urged media outlets to verify all information from official sources before publishing or circulating updates related to the yatra, to avoid unnecessary panic or confusion among pilgrims and the public.The public has also been strongly advised to rely only on official updates for accurate and timely information about the pilgrimage.The administration has also appealed to the general public to trust only official bulletins for timely and accurate information about the Yatra.
