A team of 47 officials from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) visited Srinagar to study the city's innovative smart city projects. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and exchange ideas for improving urban development across Indian cities.
The delegation explored several key projects under Srinagar's smart city mission. These included the integrated command and control centre (ICCC), Jhelum riverfront, Balidan Stambh, Northern Foreshore Road, Nishat Sathu, Shalimar Canal, Ghanta Ghar, and the revamped Polo View Market.
Each of these projects reflects Srinagar's commitment to sustainable development and modern urban planning.
Officials from Srinagar Smart City Ltd accompanied the delegation and provided a comprehensive presentation on the execution of these projects. They highlighted the innovative architecture and technology integration aimed at enhancing urban services.
The discussions focused on sustainability, environmental conservation, and community-centered planning as core elements for shaping a better future for the city.

“This visit highlights the importance of inter-city collaboration in pursuing urban excellence,” said an official from Srinagar Smart City Ltd.
He further added, “It’s a pleasure that we share our experience and also learn from the AMC representatives while making cities smarter and greener in the future.”
The AMC officials were impressed by Srinagar’s forward-thinking and sustainable approach to urban planning. They remarked that the city is a perfect example of how "modernisation can be achieved by maintaining the history and rich heritage simultaneously."
