Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to arrive in Odisha this Friday for a high-profile visit aimed at launching a series of development projects valued at approximately ₹3,275 crore.

The minister’s itinerary is packed with both ceremonial duties and infrastructure milestones. He is expected to inaugurate 69 completed projects and will lay the foundation stones for a further 130 initiatives. A significant portion of his morning will be spent in the Mundali area of Cuttack district, where he will preside over the raising day celebrations of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

Following the ceremony, the Home Minister will travel to Paradip to officially open a new sulphuric acid plant at the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO) facility. Local BJP MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai confirmed that Shah will address a gathering at the site, with the visit also touching upon broader themes such as dairy cooperatives, youth empowerment, and the welfare of the farming community.

The visit also carries a heavy focus on law enforcement and judicial infrastructure. Shah is scheduled to lay the foundation stones for the Bhubaneswar campus of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Khurda district. Furthermore, he will virtually open a transit campus for the NFSU and an exhibition dedicated to the country’s updated criminal laws, with several memorandums of understanding expected to be signed during the proceedings.

In preparation for the arrival of the minister, the Odisha Police have strengthened the security arrangements in the region significantly. Stringent traffic restrictions have been put in place in the capital region, and senior police officials at Khurda, Cuttack, and Jagatsinghpur have been put on high alert to ensure that the day goes off smoothly.
