Union Home Minister Amit Shah is arriving in Jammu today to officially kickstart the BJP’s election campaign and release the party's poll manifesto during his two-day visit to J&K, beginning tomorrow.

His visit to the Union Territory comes amid growing discontent among party leaders and workers in Jammu over ticket distribution. Several leaders and their supporters are protesting across various constituencies, while some senior leaders and youth wing members have rebelled and resigned from the party.

Those who have resigned are threatening to run as independents in the upcoming assembly elections in J&K.

“The Home Minister will be here in Jammu today, starting his two-day visit tomorrow. He is expected to arrive in the late afternoon from Delhi,” said a party leader.

On the first day of his crucial visit, Shah will release the party manifesto at around 4 pm. Party sources confirmed that he is likely to chair a joint meeting with party leaders and meet delegations of party workers.

It is anticipated that he will discuss the recent discontent, assess the current situation within the party, and attempt to ease tensions before the assembly polls.

Shah will officially launch the BJP’s campaign in Jammu, where he is scheduled to address a rally in the city on Saturday, according to party officials.

In preparation for his visit, security has been heightened around Jammu city.

A multi-tier security arrangement has been implemented at the two key venues, including the media centre, by the BJP to counter opposition narratives in J&K.

Preparations for his rally are already underway at Paloura Top, with sanitisation operations completed and area dominance protocols established, officials said.
