The Amritsar and Chandigarh airports have officially reopened for all commercial and civil flight operations, including both domestic and international services, starting Monday.
The authorities confirmed that all safety checks and necessary preparations have been completed, ensuring the airport is fully equipped to manage regular air traffic. Passengers are advised to verify updated schedules with their respective airlines.
Suman Das, public relations officer at the Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, stated, “The airport is now ready and open for all commercial, civil, domestic and international flight operations.”
Meanwhile, the Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) and the Mohali Deputy Commissioner confirmed the resumption, stating that flight operations to and from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport resumed at 10:30 am on May 12.
“Passengers are advised to check with their respective airlines for updated schedules,” CHIAL said in an official post on X. Echoing the announcement, the Mohali DC posted, “Chandigarh Airport is now open for normal civil flight operations with immediate effect, as per information conveyed by the CEO of CHIAL.”
This development comes after India and Pakistan reached an agreement on Saturday to cease military actions following four days of intense drone and missile exchanges. DGMO-level talks between the two nations are scheduled for later on Monday.
