Andhra Pradesh BJP Chief PVN Madhav demanded renaming of monuments that are remnants from colonial or oppressive history, such as the Jinnah Tower in Guntur. He attended 'Chai Pe Charcha' programme in Guntur on Tuesday where he opined that programme is meant to address public issues.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he is working day and night for the development of the country, and that his ideas are a source of inspiration for the programme.
Madhav stressed on the requirement for model colonies with contemporary facilities such as CCTV cameras, sanitation and streetlights. He cited the example of 'Modi Colonies'.

Madhav emphasised the need to respect personal freedom to practise one's religion, stating "I will chant 'Jai Shri Ram', others can follow what they like, and we should respect that". He also promised that the Bharatiya Janata Party would work for the development of Guntur and Vijayawada cities.
The event witnessed a large number of locals, who discussed their issues with Madhav.
