The 50th session of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) was conducted in the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, where seven key proposals were granted with an aim to provide a big boost to the long-delayed construction of state capital Amaravati. Municipal Administration Minister Dr P Narayana, Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy, CRDA Commissioner Vivek Yadav, and other top officials attended.
Subsequently speaking to the media, Minister Narayana promised that construction of Amaravati would be finished in three years. He stated that the delay in the past was because the master plan was finalised late in 2018, but this time all procedures are simplified and there is no scope for doubt.

The CRDA Authority sanctioned the purchase of another 20,494 acres from four villages of Amaravati mandal and three villages of Tullur mandal in the capital area. It also cleared the proposal to invite RFPs (Request for Proposals) for high-density residential areas and mixed-development schemes in a total of 58 acres of Finance City and Sports City locations, including Mandadam, Rayapudi, and Pichukalapalem.
In order to enhance civic infrastructure, the Authority sanctioned the CRDA plan for constructing convention centers adjacent to five-star hotels in Amaravati. As construction activity picks up, the CRDA has been allowed to conduct sand dredging above the Prakasam Barrage to fulfill the capital's material needs.
