Andhra Pradesh is preparing to sign 410 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth a whopping ₹9.8 lakh crore at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit scheduled for November 14 and 15 in the port city of Visakhapatnam.
The mega event, billed as a curtain raiser to the state’s ambitious job creation and decentralised development mission, is expected to generate 7.5 lakh jobs and lay the foundation for projects worth ₹2.7 lakh crore, creating 2.5 lakh additional employment opportunities.
Addressing the media, the Information Technology (IT) Minister Nara Lokesh unveiled the summit’s tagline: “Companies that choose speed, choose Andhra Pradesh.” He described the event as a three-way partnership between people, government, and industry — a collaborative blueprint for inclusive growth, youth empowerment, and global competitiveness.
“This Summit is a partnership among our people, our government, and forward-looking corporations. Every MoU is a commitment to the dreams of our youth. Choose AP means choosing speed, trust, and opportunity grounded in Telugu pride and built for global leadership,” said Lokesh, who is the son of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The Summit will host 300 overseas delegates from 45 countries, including G20 members, and feature 72 international speakers. Union Ministers who will attend the event include Nirmala Sitharaman (Finance), Piyush Goyal (Commerce), Ashwini Vaishnaw (Railways, I&B, Electronics & IT), Ram Mohan Naidu (Aviation), Annapurna Devi (WCD) and Dr Jitendra Singh (Minister of State, Independent Charge).
There will be 48 sessions: one plenary, 27 technical, three standalone, and 11 state-specific sessions. There will be a focus on renewable energy, semiconductors, AI, drones, steel, ports, and Agri-tech.
Lokesh elaborated on the investments committed already. They include ArcelorMittal: ₹1.5 lakh crore greenfield steel plant (fast-tracked in 14 months); Google: ₹15 billion AI and data hub in Visakhapatnam; BPCL: ₹1 lakh crore refinery; and NTPC: ₹1.65 lakh crore green hydrogen hub.
He said that the companies chose Andhra Pradesh because they were impressed by the single-window system for speedy clearance of projects, efficient governance, world-class infrastructure, seamless policy support and connectivity, and skilled and trainable workforce.
