The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday apprehended an armed intruder along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu district, police officials said. According to official sources, the man was arrested near the International Border (IB) in the Pargwal area, and a weapon was seized from him.
The suspect, identified as Abdul Khalik, was carrying a weapon and was handed over to Khour police station for further investigation and legal proceedings, they said.
Security forces have foiled several infiltration attempts in 2025, including four major incidents along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to recent estimates, eight terrorists were killed while trying to infiltrate Indian territory, while five other individuals involved in these attempts were “pushed back” across the border.
In another incident, a Pakistani national was apprehended by the Army in the Tarkundi sector of Poonch district in June 2025.
The biggest success for security forces in 2025 came in August, when they killed Bagu Khan, code-named “Human GPS,” who had been guiding infiltrators in the Gurez sector this year.
These infiltration attempts were reportedly thwarted across the Jammu division as well as North Kashmir throughout the year.
Security agencies have said that attempts by Pakistani nationals to cross over to this side have seen a sharp increase since September 2025.
Meanwhile, security agencies, along with central intelligence and police intelligence reports, indicate that there are approximately 100-120 active terrorists, with another 70 waiting at active launch pads to cross the LoC.
