Police in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district said on Monday that an Army constable has been detained for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl.

 

The accused, identified as 43-year-old Ravinder Kumar Nath, was posted at a canteen for veterans. He was arrested after the girl’s family filed a complaint against him on Sunday, the police said.

 

As per the complaint, the accused allegedly misbehaved with their daughter and later molested her, the police further said.

 

A case was registered under Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, officials said.
The accused was caught in a raid and is now being questioned.
