Kargil is the greatest achievement of the Indian armed forces, said a participant in Sunday’s Fit India Sundays on Cycle-Kargil Diwas special ride on Sunday. The event was organised to honour the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian soldiers who fought valiantly in the Kargil War in 1999.
The army’s “Operation Vijay” was launched to reclaim the occupied territory and overthrow the occupiers from the key installations and mountain peaks. When asked about the role of fitness in one's life, several participants replied that everyone, regardless of age and gender, should participate in fitness activities.
They said cycling and Yoga can have positive impacts on both the physical and mental well-being of individuals Participants further said, “It would be a very good campaign if we recall the sacrifices of our soldiers.” They advised people to do cycling to stay fit, as not everyone can do running, so cycling is a preferred choice. On the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on Saturday, the army commemorated it with pride and nationwide participation, honouring the valour and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers during the war.
