Indian Army takes decisive action against suspected Pakistani drone and individuals along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

The Indian Army has reported opening fire on a suspected Pakistani drone and individuals at distinct locations along the Line of Control (LoC) situated in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

According to official sources, the incident occurred on Monday, with the army taking decisive action in response to detected threats.

Sources reveal that the drone activity was first identified in a forward area of Sunderbani.

Simultaneously, there were reports of unusual movement observed in the Keri sector during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, suspected to involve individuals linked to terrorist activities.

Troops promptly responded by firing at least four shots at the Pakistani quadcopter upon its breach into Indian Territory. Despite the gunfire, the drone managed to retreat to the other side of the LoC.

Additionally, shots were fired in response to suspicious activity by individuals attempting to infiltrate from across the border in the Keri sector. However, they managed to evade capture and escaped to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Following these events, a large-scale search operation has been launched to ensure no drones or other suspicious materials were left behind by the suspected individuals.

This incident comes in the wake of a previous terror attack in December last year, where four Army personnel lost their lives and three others were injured in an ambush by terrorists in Thanamandi, Rajouri.

In response, the Army initiated an extensive search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. However, the dense forest cover in the Rajouri and Poonch area facilitated the terrorists' escape.

In light of heightened security concerns, the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, visited Rajouri after the attack and announced the deployment of additional troops to sanitise the area.

Moreover, the Ministry of Home Affairs has designated Rajouri and Poonch as "special areas of concern," indicative of the region's strategic importance in national security.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has also pledged the mobilisation of additional troops, specifically designated for these zones, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
