The Indian Army on Sunday, provided training to Village Defence Guards (VDGs) in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 43 VDG members participated in the session, which focused on improving their skills in tactics, endurance, and shooting.
The training was led by the Rashtriya Rifles battalion, under the counter-insurgency force Romeo, at Balnoi, near the Line of Control (LoC). The session included lessons on weapon maintenance for the newly issued Self-Loading Rifles (SLR), understanding the tactics of terrorist groups, and addressing grievances.
Participants also received practical training on cleaning and making minor repairs to their weapons. The event provided an opportunity for open discussions about the current security situation.
