Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi today challenged the JMM-Congress-ruled State government to arrest him for helping women of the State fill the Go Go Didi scheme forms.
After returning from Delhi on Tuesday Marandi directly went to Hatia Assembly constituency in Ranchi, where he helped women to fill the Gogo Didi Yojana forms.
On the occasion, he told the women that if the BJP government comes after the elections, then Rs 2100 will be sent to the women's account on the 11th of every month.
Earlier on Monday, when reports of registration for BJP's ‘Gogo Didi Yojana’ came, JMM had taken note of the Election Commission's directions and demanded action from the Chief Minister on this matter.
Later, Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts to take action and register cases against people who are violating the directions of the Election Commission.
Reacting to Soren’s order, many BJP leaders including Babulal Marandi, Amar Bauri, and Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the order was illegal as the Model Code of Conduct was not in effect in Jharkhand.
Marandi told the women that their forms were being uploaded to the computer and their documents were being prepared. As soon as the BJP government is formed in the state, Rs 2100 will be transferred to their bank accounts on the 11th of every month.
He said that if Chief Minister Hemant Soren wants to investigate, he should do so. If he wants to take action, he should do so.
“I have come and filled the form for mothers and sisters myself. The BJP and Modi ji's government want women empowerment in the country. Today is not the first time that a programme is being run. Many schemes are already running, which are dedicated to mothers and sisters,” he said.
He said that the order regarding action by CM Soren clearly shows that he is restless about the scheme. He said that if the Hemant government wants to file an FIR, then they should do it, otherwise, he will continue the work of BJP.
