In a major step toward boosting tech-driven employment opportunities in the Northeast, the Arunachal Pradesh government has joined hands with IIT Delhi to launch a free, intensive artificial intelligence (AI) training programme for college students and recent graduates, officials announced on Thursday.
Scheduled to begin in the second week of January in Itanagar, the state-sponsored programme will deliver five to six weeks of offline training, combining classroom learning with hands-on project development. Each batch will undergo two-hour daily sessions, aimed at equipping participants with industry-ready skills.
Officials said the curriculum will cover a wide range of essential topics, including fundamentals of AI and machine learning, data analysis and visualisation, Python-based AI project development and resume building and career preparation.
The training has been designed to help learners build real-world projects aligned with rapidly growing tech sectors, ensuring participants graduate with practical, employable skills.
Registrations are already open, and applicants must submit their forms by January 4 to secure a spot.
The programme is being offered through a collaboration between the state’s Information Technology Department and IIT Delhi’s Technology Innovation Hub.
“The objective is to ensure that talented youth from Arunachal Pradesh have direct access to high-quality AI training without financial barriers. With the demand for AI talent growing across industries, the state hopes this initiative will open doors for young learners to explore careers in cutting-edge technological fields and strengthen the region’s footprint in the digital economy,” said a state government official.
