Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday reaffirmed that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would complete his five-year tenure and continue for another term.
Addressing a press conference in Amritsar, Kejriwal highlighted key issues facing Punjab, particularly drug abuse and corruption, and vowed to intensify efforts to combat them. He emphasised that Mann’s leadership was focused on justice and development and assured that his government would continue its reforms in the state.
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal and his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, offered prayers at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The visit marked Kejriwal’s return from a 10-day Vipassana meditation session in Hoshiarpur.
The occasion also coincided with the completion of three years of the AAP-led government in Punjab.
Punjab Health Minister and AAP leader Balbir Singh congratulated Mann on the milestone, highlighting the administration’s achievements in governance, healthcare, and infrastructure.

In a post on X, Singh credited the government’s progress to the “Arvind Kejriwal model” and praised initiatives such as improved schools, mohalla clinics, upgraded hospitals, free electricity, and corruption-free governance. He described the past three years as a period of transformation under Mann’s leadership, with a focus on transparency and public welfare.
Mann was sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab on March 16, 2022, after AAP secured a decisive victory in the state elections. The party won 92 out of 117 seats, ousting the Congress from power with an overwhelming mandate.
AAP also performed strongly in the December municipal elections, securing a majority in key areas such as Patiala and Jalandhar.
Meanwhile, in the recent Delhi Assembly elections, BJP's Parvesh Verma registered a major victory, defeating Arvind Kejriwal by over 4,000 votes in the New Delhi constituency.
Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit secured third place with more than 4,500 votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 48 seats in a landslide victory, marking its return to power in the national capital after 27 years.
