Assam's government has unveiled ambitious plans for a massive recruitment drive aimed at filling approximately 35,000 government vacancies by April 2025.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the initiative on Tuesday, July 9, pointing out a commitment to transparency throughout the process.
The recruitment efforts will span various sectors, including law enforcement, education, and administrative services.
Over 6,400 positions in Assam Police will undergo physical tests starting October 3.
The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) for Grade III and Grade IV positions will proceed through preliminaries, mains, and viva voce. Preliminary exams for Grade III, offering over 7,500 posts, are scheduled for September 15, 22, and 29.
Grade IV preliminary exams, covering more than 4,500 positions, will be held on October 20 and 27.
The education sector will witness a significant boost with plans to recruit over 13,000 teachers for elementary and secondary schools, details of which will be released soon.
Chief Minister Sarma affirmed that all recruitment stages, including exams and tests, will be completed within the April 2025 timeframe.
This comprehensive initiative aims to tackle unemployment in the state while bolstering various government departments.
