Himanta Biswas Sarma interacted with the injured policemen at RIMS Ranchi.


Assam Chief Minister and Jharkhand BJP assembly election co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma today met assistant police personnel, who were injured in a clash with police during their protest in Ranchi on Friday.

 

Biswa Sarma reached Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi and talked to some injured policemen.

 

He enquired about their well-being He also talked to doctors present there and asked them for better treatment of the injured persons.

 

Talking to media persons on occasion, he said that the Hemant Soren-led government should fulfil the promise it had made before the elections and efforts should be made to resolve the issue through dialogue.

 

He said that suppressing people’s voices by force is not an answer in democracy. “If they (JMM-led government) had not promised to regularise the assistant police persons’ jobs they would not have demanded it.

 

Now, the State government should resolve the issue through dialogue and not by force,” he said.

 

Earlier, on Friday night Jharkhand BJP chief and former chief minister Babulal Marandi had also gone to Morhabadi ground to meet the injured assistant police personnel.

 

He criticised the action of the state government and assured that the BJP would regularise their jobs if the party came to power in the State.

 

Dozens of assistant police personnel were injured in a clash with police in Ranchi on Friday when former were going to lay siege at the CM residence in Ranchi.

 

Police resorted to lathi charges on the protesting mob as they broke the barricade and went towards CM's residence.

 

The assistant police personnel are demanding job regularisation, pay hikes and other facilities for them as they say they are doing equal work compared to that of regular police personnel in the State.
