The Assam State Election Commission has unveiled the final electoral rolls for the 2025 Panchayat elections, listing a total of 1.8 crore voters across the state, including 89.54 lakh women.

The final voter list, published after considering the recent delimitation of Gaon and Anchalik panchayat and Zilla Parishad constituencies, now spans 27 districts, excluding areas under the Sixth Schedule and municipal bodies.

“The final electoral roll includes 1,80,14,913 electors, with 90,60,640 males, 89,53,865 females, and 408 voters from other genders,” stated an official release.

These voters will participate in elections for 397 Zilla Parishad constituencies, 181 Anchalik Panchayats, 2,192 Gaon Panchayats, and 21,920 wards.

To ensure public accessibility, the final electoral rolls are now available for viewing at the offices of the Gaon Panchayat, block development offices, Zilla Parishad offices, district commissioners’ offices, and online through district administration and State Election Commission websites.

“The commission will continue to update the voter rolls with new electors eligible by January 1, 2025, in accordance with the rules,” the statement added.

Earlier, the Assam government had announced plans to complete the Panchayat elections, including the newly delimited constituencies, by February 10, 2025.

However, a recent directive from the Gauhati High Court on December 18 restrained the Assam State Election Commission from issuing any notifications regarding the elections without prior permission.

The court is set to hear the matter again on January 9, 2025.
