Responding to the escalating online investment scam involving fraudster Bishal Phukan, the Assam government has formed a seven-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case thoroughly.

Heading the SIT is Inspector General of Police (IGP) of CID Assam, Sanjukta Parashar, known for her expertise in complex cases.

The investigation centres on Dibrugarh-based social media influencer Sumi Borah, accused of promoting the fraudulent scheme.

The SIT comprises high-ranking officials, including Dibrugarh Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) (Crime) Sizal Agarwal, along with three CID inspectors and two police superintendents.

This dedicated task force is tasked with a detailed inquiry into the scam, underlining Assam Police’s commitment to tackling digital fraud and protecting citizens.
