With the deadline for Assam’s Special Revision of electoral rolls fast approaching, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has urged voters to submit all claims, objections and corrections by January 22, 2026, failing which changes will not be entertained.
The appeal was issued through an official notification on Sunday, January 18, as part of the Special Revision (SR) exercise being conducted in accordance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) notification dated November 17, 2025.
Under the revision process, eligible citizens may apply for inclusion, deletion, correction of particulars or change of residence within the prescribed timeframe. New voter registrations must be filed using Form 6, while Form 7 is meant for objections or deletion of names. Corrections in personal details or shifting of residence within a constituency can be made through Form 8.
All applications must be submitted on or before January 22.

According to the CEO’s office, voters may submit forms offline by contacting their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at designated polling stations, or by approaching the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO). Applications may also be filed online through the ECINET mobile application or via the official portal voters.eci.gov.in.
Clarifying procedural provisions, the notification stated that there is no legal restriction on the number of Form 7 applications an elector may submit within their constituency, provided the objections are in accordance with the law.
The Chief Electoral Officer’s office has called upon citizens to carefully verify their names in the draft electoral rolls and initiate corrective measures without delay.
“All citizens are requested to ensure that every eligible voter is duly enrolled in the electoral roll of their respective constituency on or before January 22, 2026,” the release emphasised.
Voters seeking assistance or clarification may contact their nearest Booth Level Officer or dial the toll-free helpline number 1950.
