The district administration in Amritsar undertook the demolition of a house belonging to two alleged drug smugglers, Anwar Gill and Abhi, in a village as part of a crackdown on illegal activities.
The operation, carried out with the use of a bulldozer, was overseen by Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, who issued a stern warning to those involved in drug smuggling, stating that strict action would be taken against anyone engaged in such unlawful practices.
According to Commissioner Bhullar, five cases have been registered against Anwar Gill, including charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Arms Act.
Similarly, cases have also been lodged against Abhi under the same legal provisions. The two accused, who are cousins, lived in the same residence that was brought down by the authorities.
The demolition was conducted in the presence of senior law enforcement officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Alam Vijay Singh and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shivdarshan Singh, along with other senior officers. The police reiterated their commitment to cracking down on drug-related crimes and maintaining law and order in the region.
