The authorities in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district were placed on high alert on Friday evening following a bomb threat received via email, warning of potential attacks on government offices and public places within the next 24 hours.
The threat was confirmed by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Kullu. In response, the DDMA has alerted all concerned agencies, including local police, and bomb disposal squads and surveillance units have been deployed across the district as precautionary measures.
Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are actively investigating the credibility of the threat and attempting to trace the origin of the email.
This marks the fourth such threat reported in Himachal Pradesh in recent days. Earlier, similar warnings were received in Mandi, Hamirpur, and Chamba districts. Last week, a bomb threat email sent to the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mandi referenced the Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary and stated that something was going to happen in Tamil Nadu and the timing to execute the threat in Himachal Pradesh would be adjusted accordingly.
The authorities continue to monitor the situation closely while taking all necessary precautionary measures to ensure public safety.
