Ayodhya Ram Mandir has welcomed nearly 15 crore devotees and received over ₹500 crore in donations since its consecration in January 2024.

The Ram Mandir Ayodhya has witnessed an overwhelming response from devotees since its consecration on January 22, 2024, drawing nearly 15 crore visitors and receiving donations exceeding Rs 500 crore, according to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Of the total contributions, around Rs 150 crore has been collected through donation boxes installed within the temple premises, while the remaining Rs 350 crore has been received via online platforms and designated counters.

To streamline the donation process, the Trust has installed six large donation boxes, along with a dozen additional boxes at other temples within the complex. Four collection counters have also been set up, allowing devotees to make cash contributions and receive computerised receipts.

According to officials, the temple currently receives daily donations ranging between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 10 lakh through these channels. While many devotees directly deposit money into the donation boxes during their visit to Ram Lalla, those contributing at the counters are issued receipts to ensure transparency.

The Trust has implemented strict measures to maintain accountability. The entire donation process is conducted under CCTV surveillance, including the counting area, which is equipped with cameras featuring voice recording capabilities.

After counting, the funds are deposited daily into the Trust’s bank account. A specialised agency has been appointed for the counting process, with personnel working in shifts. Officials of the Trust, along with employees from the State Bank of India, oversee the process to ensure accuracy and security. Any remaining cash beyond prescribed deposit limits is sealed and securely stored.

The Trust also conducts a comprehensive audit of all donations every six months. Chartered Accountants, along with internal bank officials, verify contributions received through online transfers, cheques, UPI, and donation boxes. The audit includes a detailed account of income and expenditure.

These financial records are periodically presented before the Trust’s office-bearers during official meetings. Officials, including general secretary Champat Rai, have emphasised that strict systems are in place to ensure that every rupee is accounted for and that no irregularities occur.

The steady inflow of devotees and donations highlights the temple’s growing significance as a major religious and cultural centre in the country.
