Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand to open on May 4, for devotees

Devotees visit the Badrinath temple, a day before closing of its doors for the winter season, in Chamoli district on November 16.


The sacred Badrinath Temple in Uttarakhand, one of the four Char Dham shrines, will open its doors to devotees on May 4.


Badrinath is a highly revered pilgrimage site that welcomes thousands of devotees every year. The temple is open only from May to November, and the date for reopening is announced each year on Basant Panchami.


According to the announcement, the temple’s portals will open between 4 am and 6 am at Mesh Lagna on May 4, 2025. The Rajguru of Tehri, Acharya Krishnanand Nautiyal, confirmed the timing.


The former Maharaja of Tehri Garhwal, Manujendra Shah, extended his wishes on Basant Panchami and prayed for a safe pilgrimage for all devotees.


The date was officially declared after special prayers and rituals were performed at the Narendra Nagar Raj Mahal in Tehri district.
