Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma will transfer ₹717.96 crore into the bank accounts of farmers on October 18 as the fourth instalment of the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, officials confirmed on Friday. The event will take place in Nadbai, Bharatpur district.
Cooperation and Civil Aviation Minister Gautam Kumar Dak stated that the initiative is part of the state’s continuous effort to boost rural income via transparent Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT). He recalled that the original scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 to provide direct financial support to small and marginal farmers.
Dak highlighted the recent expansion of the scheme, noting that Prime Minister Modi had already released the 20th instalment of the central scheme on August 2nd, distributing ₹20,500 crore to 9.7 crore farmers nationwide.
He specified that Rajasthan implemented the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on June 30th, 2024, raising the annual state assistance from ₹6,000 to ₹8,000. Furthermore, there are plans to increase this support to ₹9,000 from the 2025-26 fiscal year.
Dak confirmed that farmers in Rajasthan will now receive ₹9,000 annually through the transparent DBT system under the combined initiative of the Centre and the state. He asserted that "This step will not only boost farmers' income but also strengthen the rural economy."
Dak added that over 71.79 lakh farmers in Rajasthan have already benefitted from the central Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, and that grassroots workers and local representatives are actively working to spread awareness of the scheme in villages to ensure wider participation.
