All Pakistani nationals who had entered Bihar recently have left the state ahead of the April 27 deadline, the Bihar government confirmed on Saturday. A total of 19 Pakistani nationals, who had arrived on visit or tourist visas after January 2025, departed the state by April 25 or earlier, according to data shared by the state government.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, stated that no Pakistani nationals remain in Bihar, except those on medical visas and long-term visas (LTVs). “The medical visas are valid till April 29,” he added.
The exodus of Pakistani nationals comes in response to a directive issued by the Centre, suspending all visa services for Pakistanis in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. As part of the national-level measures to ensure compliance, the Bihar government ordered local officials to facilitate the return of Pakistani nationals within the stipulated time frame.
Officials revealed that those departing Bihar have been using major border entry points, including the Attari-Wagah border in Punjab and the Khokrapar-Munabao border in Rajasthan, to exit India. Both routes are significant for cross-border movement between India and Pakistan, with the Attari-Wagah border being the primary passage for those travelling from North India, while the Khokrapar-Munabao border serves those from the western parts of India.
On Friday, the Bihar government issued instructions to ensure that no Pakistani nationals stay beyond the set deadline. Following the Centre's decision to suspend visa services for Pakistani nationals, the state government directed officials, including District Magistrates and police heads, to ensure strict compliance with the Centre’s directive.
