Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday directed officials to establish 11 mega industrial parks and food parks in all 38 districts of the state to boost industrial growth and generate employment.
The Chief Minister also called for the creation of a 50,000-acre land bank to accelerate industrial development and attract investment.
Choudhary issued the directions during a high-level review meeting of the Industries Department at his official residence in Patna.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office, he emphasised that industrial development was crucial for Bihar's economic progress and could significantly transform the state's image.
“Industrial development is key to Bihar’s prosperity and can significantly transform the state’s image. The government aims to take Bihar to new heights in industry, investment and employment generation,” Choudhary said.
He instructed officials to ensure adequate land availability for industrial projects and expedite measures aimed at attracting investors.
“There is no shortage of resources in Bihar. Providing a favourable environment for investors to establish industries is the government's highest priority,” the Chief Minister said.

Choudhary also directed officials to simplify industrial approval procedures and make them more transparent, with the aim of improving Bihar’s ranking in ease of doing business.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment in rural areas to ensure employment generation at the grassroots level.
He identified food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as sectors with significant growth potential and asked officials to intensify efforts to develop these industries.
As part of the state's industrial expansion plans, Choudhary directed the Industries Department to work towards establishing a textile industrial centre and strengthening Bihar’s start-up ecosystem to create opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
The Chief Minister said a robust industrial ecosystem would help attract investments, create jobs and contribute to balanced regional development across the state.
The review meeting was attended by Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit and other senior government officials.
The proposed mega industrial parks, district-level food parks and land bank initiative form part of the state government's broader strategy to accelerate industrialisation and position Bihar as an attractive investment destination.
