A bizarre error on an admit card for an upcoming recruitment examination at the District and Sessions Court Rohtas has left a candidate in distress after a dog’s photo was printed in place of his own, raising questions about the functioning of the recruitment system.
The admit card issued for the March 15 examination for the post of peon carried the candidate’s correct name, roll number and other personal details. However, instead of the candidate’s photograph, the admit card displayed the image of a dog.
The candidate, a resident of Dhawa village in Bikramganj under Rohtas district, said he was shocked when he downloaded the admit card. Since then, he has been running from office to office seeking correction of the error at a time when he should have been focusing on preparing for the examination.
According to the candidate, the recruitment for fourth-grade posts at the district court was announced in 2022, and the preliminary examination is finally being held this year. He claimed that he had correctly uploaded his photograph while submitting the online application and has proof of it.
“The examination centre has been allotted in Saharsa. When I saw my admit card, I was shocked. I had uploaded my correct photo while applying and have proof of it,” he said.
Expressing frustration, the candidate said the error has made him a subject of ridicule. “Vacancies for the post of peon were announced four years ago at the district court and I had applied then. After such a long wait, when the admit card was issued, it had the picture of a dog on it. This mistake should be corrected immediately so that I do not face problems at the examination centre,” he said.
Despite complaining several times to the recruitment board, the candidate alleged that no action has been taken so far.
The unusual error has sparked criticism and raised concerns over the seriousness and reliability of the online application and recruitment process.
The candidate has urged the authorities to resolve the issue quickly so that he can appear for the examination without any difficulty and demanded strict action against those responsible for the lapse.
