Three teenagers were tragically killed by a train while playing the mobile game PUBG on railway tracks in Bihar’s West Champaran district on Thursday.
The incident occurred near the Royal School at Mansa Tola, along the Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur rail section, under the Mufassil police station jurisdiction.
The victims, identified as Furkan Alam of Railway Gumti, Sameer Alam of Bari Tola, and Habibullah Ansari, were reportedly wearing earphones, which caused them to fail to notice the approaching train.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
Hundreds of local residents gathered at the scene in shock and grief, with the families of the victims taking their bodies home for burial rites. Sadar Sub-
Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Vivek Deep, along with Railway Police, arrived at the site to investigate the situation.
"We are establishing communication to recover the bodies for post-mortem. We are also attempting to take statements from the victims' families to ascertain the details of the accident. Preliminary investigation reveals they were playing mobile games while sitting on the railway track," SDPO Vivek Deep stated.
The incident has highlighted the dangers of playing mobile games in unsafe environments, especially on railway tracks.
Authorities are urging parents to closely monitor their children’s gaming habits and educate them on the importance of staying alert in public spaces to prevent such tragedies.
