Bihar has received four additional Vande Bharat Express trains, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual ceremony on Sunday.
The new services will cover routes including Tatanagar-Patna, Bhagalpur-Howrah, Gaya-Howrah, and Deoghar-Varanasi, passing through Bihar. These trains were part of six flagged off by the Prime Minister from Ranchi.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, attended the event virtually from Patna. Senior railway officials were also present at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu was at Bhagalpur station when the trains were flagged off.
He remarked, “It’s a new chapter in modern rail travel for Bihar... It will provide faster, more comfortable, and efficient connectivity. This state-of-the-art train is a testament to India’s growing infrastructure and commitment to enhancing passenger experience,” in a post on X.
The new trains are expected to improve Bihar’s connectivity with neighbouring states.
