A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, alleging that the attack was motivated by Siddique’s connections to Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Siddique was shot outside his son’s office in Bandra on Saturday night. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he was later declared dead.
Just hours after the shooting, a social media user claiming to be part of the Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the attack.
The post stated that the motive behind the murder was Siddique’s close ties to Salman Khan. It also mentioned Anuj Thapan, who was linked to a previous shooting incident involving Khan and died by suicide while in police custody.
The post read, “Salman Khan, we did not want this war but you made our brother lose his life.” It continued, “We have no personal enmity with anyone. However, anyone who helps Salman Khan should be prepared for consequences. If any of our brothers are harmed, we will respond. We never strike first. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat, salute to the martyrs.”
Mumbai Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the killing of Baba Siddique. They are exploring various angles, including the possibility of a contract killing, business rivalry, or threats related to a slum rehabilitation project. Authorities suspect that the murder was premeditated.
The police have arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting. They have been identified as Karnail Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap. Both individuals are believed to have ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
As the investigation unfolds, there is heightened concern regarding the safety and security of politicians in Maharashtra. The killing has sent shockwaves through the political community and raised questions about the influence of gangs in the region.
