Former Haryana chief minister and Leader of the Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has stated that the BJP has completely ruined the state's law and order and economy. He said the present BJP government in the state is only a government of event management and does not have any outcomes to show people.

Addressing a press conference and the Congress training camp in Kurukshetra for the second consecutive day on Monday, Hooda said organised crime is at its peak in the state today. “Criminals are committing crimes fearlessly and even openly taking responsibility for them. More than 80 such gangs are active in the state, carrying out murders, robberies, dacoities and kidnappings for ransom. The Central government's own Social Progress Index shows that Haryana is the most unsafe state in the country,” he said.

Haryana Congress president Rao Narendra Singh, former minister and MLA Ashok Arora, Ramkaran Kala, Mandeep Chatha and several other MLAs and senior leaders were present with him. Rao Narendra Singh also gave a detailed account of the program.

Hooda said the BJP is merely a government of event management, focused on propaganda but completely detached from reality. “This is why Haryana's economic situation remains alarming. From 1966 to 2014, the state's total debt was Rs 60,000 crore, which has now increased to more than Rs 5 lakh crore. As a result, Haryana ranks 14th out of 18 states in the NITI Aayog's Fiscal Health Index. Since 2018-19, 1,446 factories in Haryana have either closed down or relocated. Consequently, job creation is not happening in the state, and unemployment is at its peak,” he said.

Earlier, addressing party functionaries, Hooda spoke about the history, policies and ideology of the Congress. He congratulated all the leaders on being elected as district presidents and expressed hope that everyone would discharge their responsibilities with complete dedication, impartiality and fearlessness.

Hooda said the post of district president in the Congress is a position of prestige and honour. “Many national and state leaders like Sir Chhotu Ram have held this position. Chhotu Ram, Chaudhary Bansi Lal, Banarsi Das Gupta and others have graced this position,” he said.

“In this test, you must first feel and internalise the pride of being an inheritor of the glorious legacy of struggle, sacrifice and dedication of the Indian National Congress. The Congress is not just a party, but a culture and an ideal. You must remember that the glorious history of India's freedom struggle tells the story of the Congress's struggle, sacrifice and dedication. These two are inseparable. Therefore, we should remember the great leaders of the freedom struggle and draw inspiration from them. Dr Ambedkar said a country and society that forgets its great leaders and its history cannot create new history, and its downfall is inevitable,” he stated.

Hooda said successive Congress governments in Haryana from Bhagwat Dayal Sharma to Chaudhary Bansi Lal and Chaudhary Bhajan Lal have made significant contributions to making Haryana a leading state in the country. “When I had the privilege of serving as chief minister twice, our government carried out work that proved to be a milestone. We made Haryana the number one state in the country on every parameter of development, including per capita income, per capita investment, job creation, law and order, and respect for athletes and farmers,” he said.
