BJP may form govt by dividing Kashmiri vote in JK: Omar

In the valley, the BJP is represented indirectly by a “bat,” a “pressure cooker,” and an “apple.” It is important to understand that every vote that goes to these parties will only help the BJP. Make no mistake—every vote for these parties is a vote for the BJP,” he said.

National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that the BJP may form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir only if Kashmiris allow the division of their votes.

While addressing the reporters at the sidelines of a poll rally in Kupwara, when asked about the BJP's claim of forming the next government in the UT, Omar said, “BJP can form the government if the people in Kashmir allow division of their votes. People must vote wisely to avoid division of votes.”

The national conference leadership is actively campaigning for the upcoming assembly polls scheduled to commence on September 18.

Before this, the NC vice president led a rally in support of this party candidate, Nasir Aslam Wani, who filed his nomination papers on Wednesday. Omar also asked his party cadre to step up efforts to make NC’s rallies successful.

Omar also cautioned the people against falling for division of votes. He said, “Engineer Rashid’s release before the elections is a well-thought-out move to devise Kashmiri voters.”

He added, "Despite their moves, I have strong faith in people to see this through these manipulative tactics.”

“We cannot afford to have our voices fragmented when our very identity and dignity are at stake, it is need of the hour that we stand united against such divisive tactics,” Omar said.

He accused the BJP of openly trying to divide votes in Kashmir valley by fielding and supporting proxies. Urging the people of north Kashmir not to fall for the engineer’s release stint.

Don't let the BJP succeed with its evil tactics:

He said while taking a jibe at engineer Rashid’s AIP, Sajad Lone’s people’s conference, and Altaf Bukhari’s Apni party that “if anyone wants to have a BJP government in J&K, then vote for these proxies as they are supported by the BJP.”

In the valley, the BJP is represented indirectly by a “bat,” a “pressure cooker,” and an “apple.” It is important to understand that every vote that goes to these parties will only help the BJP. Make no mistake—every vote for these parties is a vote for the BJP,” he said.
