Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today expressed dismay that his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal remains in jail. Soren denounced the BJP for orchestrating dramatic events during the general elections, attempting to undermine the judiciary through conspiracy.
Soren, who arrived in Delhi on Saturday, met with Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and addressed various issues, including the significance of 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas'.
He explained that the meeting with Sonia Gandhi was prompted by the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections and his release from jail.
"With Jharkhand Assembly elections approaching in a few months, we felt it necessary to meet," he added.
Accompanying Soren was his wife, Kalpana Murmu Soren, also an MLA in the Jharkhand Assembly.
Soren clarified that there were no specific discussions about the Jharkhand Assembly elections with Sonia Gandhi, but they plan to engage in formal talks soon.
Regarding the Central Government's decision to observe June 25 as 'Samvidhan Hatya Diwas', Soren remarked, "Only the BJP knows what they say and do. However, people are no longer swayed easily. Our democracy thrives on sensitivity and people's strength, especially when it concerns their rights."
Commenting on Kejriwal's interim bail, Soren said, "We all witnessed the drama unfold in recent days. The BJP's attempts to manipulate the judiciary were evident. Although Kejriwal received interim bail, I regret that he could not be released."
"I am optimistic that he will soon be released," Soren concluded.
