The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today released its third list with 29 candidates for the second and third phases of the Jammu and Kashmir polls.
So far, the number of candidates declared by the BJP in three lists is 45.
Elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted in three phases beginning September 18, with the second two stages on September 25 and October 1.
In the last assembly elections in 2014, Jammu and Kashmir was still a full-fledged state, and the BJP was able to win around 25 seats.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said he hopes the BJP will form power in the upcoming government of Jammu and Kashmir.
He doesn't fear the bragging being made about a pre-poll alliance with the National Conference (NC) and Congress as he thinks that won't deter his party.
Shri Singh was in Doda district, part of his Udhampur parliamentary constituency, to support his former ministers Shakti Raj Parihar and Gajay Singh Rana as they filed nomination papers for the Doda-West and Doda assembly constituencies.
The Congress has announced the final list of nine candidates for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, following a seat-sharing pact with their ally, the National Conference.
The National Conference declared 18 of its candidates for the elections on Monday.
Out of the total 90 seats, it was decided that the National Conference would contest 51, and the Congress would test its luck on 32. The two parties have also decided to have a "friendly contest" on five seats.
