Three-time MLA from Gharaunda, Harvinder Kalyan, was unanimously elected Speaker of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Friday along with his deputy Krishan Middha.
Kalyan represents the OBC Rod community in Gharaunda segment of Karnal district in the state.

Earlier, cabinet minister Krishan Lal Panwar pushed for Middha’s name and BJP MLA Ghanshayam Dass seconded it.
Middha is one of the eight Punjabi-Khatri lawmakers elected to the assembly. His appointment means more representation for Jind.
