As the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government completes one year of its second term, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun preparations to release a “charge sheet” highlighting the government’s alleged failures.
State BJP president and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has constituted a seven-member committee to draft the document, which will list the shortcomings of the ruling coalition and present them before the public.
The committee includes Chief Whip and MLA Naveen Jaiswal, state vice president and former minister Bhanu Pratap Shahi, former Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri, state media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak, co-media in-charge Yogendra Pratap Singh, former MP and spokesperson Geeta Koda, and Antyodaya editor Ravinath Kishore.
Announcing the committee, BJP state working president and MP Aditya Sahu said that the people of Jharkhand are disillusioned with the Soren government’s unfulfilled promises, corruption, and deteriorating law and order situation. He added that through this charge sheet, the BJP will present the “true picture” of the government’s one-year performance, exposing how promises of development, employment, and good governance have remained unfulfilled.
The BJP alleged that corruption has reached its peak under the Soren administration, recruitment policies are unbalanced, and law and order continues to worsen. The party claimed that the government has forgotten its commitments to the people and is busy enjoying the comforts of power.
