The Haryana Civil Secretariat witnessed a tense situation on Friday afternoon after a bomb threat was received via email, prompting a complete evacuation of the premises. Security forces, including the CISF and the police, responded swiftly, mobilizing personnel to safeguard the area and ensure public safety.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Udaypal Singh stated that the CISF and Chandigarh Police responded promptly, issuing public announcements and securing the area surrounding the secretariat. Given the close proximity to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's residence, security measures were significantly heightened.

A coordinated response was launched, with the bomb disposal squad, fire brigade, ambulance services, quick reaction teams, and dog squad arriving on the scene. These specialised units carried out thorough searches across the high-security zone. The incident bears similarities to a recent bomb threat at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which was later confirmed to be a false alarm.

Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the source of the threat and have urged the public to remain calm but vigilant.
